Swim Team Parents Organization

The Swim Team has a parent organization group called the Swim Team Parents
Organization (STPO) that helps the YMCA to run its swim meets, upgrades to the swim
equipment and other costs of the swim program.  As a parent of a swimmer(s) you are
a member of the STPO.  There is no annual fee just your time and talents.  The STPO
officers and returning parents would sure like to invite the new families to the
meetings.  The meeting are once a month for all parents and once a month for the
officers during the swim season.

Fundraising - Our only fundraiser at this time is an Invitational meet we host.  On the
first Saturday in November from 7am to approximately 5:00pm we will have our
invitational which requires
everyone's help.

Our invitational consists of 8-10 YMCA teams containing approximately 250-300 total
swimmers of all ages and families to watch.  The teams travel in from Peoria to St.
Louis and from Hannibal, Mo. to Champaign.  The preparations are already under way
for the big event.  We usually begin setting up the YMCA on Friday during the day so
that the building is all ready before Saturday morning arrives.  Some of the jobs are to
help setup and take down, supervision of swimmers, concessions, programs,
organizing swimmers, timers, etc.  If you think you might be ready to commit to helping,
please give the Invitational Chairperson a call.
